Job Description
With reference to our Head of Supply Chain, you will have independent and strategic purchasing responsibility with a focus on supplier cooperation and contract negotiations. Your area of responsibility will include several significant categories of merchandise. You will be a central member of the sourcing organization and you will actively contribute to the company’s overall growth and development.
Areas of responsibility:
- Independent strategic procurement
- Cooperation with suppliers both in Europe and Asia
- Sourcing new products and suppliers in cooperation with Product Managers
- Price and contract negotiations
- Negotiate annual agreements, including ongoing selection and adaptation of the supplier portfolio.
- Ensure optimized category development, e.g. in relation to price development, demand and competitor initiatives.
- Cooperation with our sourcing office in China.
- Implement new products and update present products in cooperation with Product Managers and R&D
- Secure alignment with Axapta ERP system
Areas of responsibility:
You will be operating in an international setup with colleagues in Spain, UK, and other European countries. You will have a close corporation with colleagues in China and suppliers in both APAC and Europe. Your workplace will be at the head office in Hornsyld near Horsens, Denmark and you must expect 25–30 travel days per year.
Your background:
The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years’ experience with strategic purchasing/category management and independent negotiation of major procurement contracts.
Industry experience is not essential; however, it is an advantage if you have knowledge of electronic/mechanical merchandise and purchasing.
You are expected to have a relevant commercial education and a strong technical interest, or alternatively a technical education and solid experience in the commercial field.
As a person, you are a skilled merchant who knows how to create healthy long-term relationships through a proactive approach to collaboration. You are robust with a natural impact while you understand the patience and persistence that a negotiation process requires.
